Mini Ninja Sushi School

At Boxpark, we like to make sure that there's something for everyone. Whether it's workout classes, live music, quality street food or the chance to learn a new skill. This week, YO! is bringing their Mini Ninja Sushi School to Boxpark Croydon, where it's the kids who'll be invited to get creative in the kitchen. We caught up with YO!'s Product Manager, Victoria, to find out more.
Tell us who you are and what you do.
I’m Vic and I have all the fun creating new products for YO! It’s got to be the best job in the business!
How did the idea for the Mini Ninja Sushi School come about?
Grown-ups love our sushi schools and little ones are always fascinated by how our chefs roll. We felt it was a really fun activity we could develop whilst promoting healthy eating and teaching kids a new skill at the same time.
What can ticket-holders expect from this week's workshops?
Our sushi making classes make a deliciously different and fun activity for little ones. The hour long classes focus on getting children excited about healthy, flavoursome food. Our friendly chef takes the class through the three kinds of sushi step by step, until your Mini Ninjas are rolling their very own sushi masterpieces!
Will there be more sushi workshops in 2018?
There sure will! We’ll be hosting classes throughout school holidays and weekly Sunday morning classes during term time.
What is your favourite dish from YO!'s menu?
On a healthy day, I love our Green & Beets sushi roll; it’s super fresh. On a treat day, I’ll be digging into a chicken katsu curry with furikake fries!
There's still time to book your little ones a place at the Mini Ninja Sushi School. The first workshop is Tuesday 13 Feb from 11:00am to midday. The second is Thursday 15 Feb from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Click here to book your tickets; parents and guardians will also benefit from a 20% discount at YO! with every ticket purchased.
