PREMIUM STREAMING SERVICE LIONSGATE+ PRESENTS ‘THE ART OF EMOTION’ AN IMMERSIVE ART EXPERIENCE DESIGNED TO MAKE YOU FEEL
Partnering with some of the most talented artists in the UK to create an exclusive pop-up live art show dedicated to art that makes you feel, the two day event will feature the works of profoundly talented local artists and creators: BEST | EVER, Cheo, Mr. Cenz, Ngadi Smart and Nyanza D; whose large-scale artwork is curated to align with five emotional pillars: AMAZEMENT, PASSION, THRILL, LAUGHTER and WONDER.
Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9, 10am-6pm @ Shoreditch BOXPARK Green the event is free and open to the public, Come immerse yourself in The Art of Emotion.
STARZPLAY is now LIONSGATE+, offering viewers an escape to bold, curated storytelling and is celebrating its rebrand by partnering with multiple UK-based artists to create and curate a special art event that evokes the types of feelings viewers encounter when immersing themselves in LIONSGATE+ content.
LIONSGATE+ features exclusive original and acquired series along with blockbuster movies that make you feel – including Outlander (UK), Power Book II: Ghost, The Great, Gaslit and Dangerous Liaisons (coming November 2022) is celebrating its rebrand, by launching an immersive art pop up, The Art of Emotion, this October at BOXPARK Shoreditch's The Green.
The experience will take attendees through the artist’s interpretations of each emotion, while listening to music curated to match each feeling - an audio experience engineered by The Producers UK, the legendary team behind The Shard and Time Out's Silent Disco'. In addition to the creators’ visual and audio work, the event features interactive art where attendees can bring their own feelings to life in a collective emotional piece, and take-home “emotional portraiture” by renowned photographers, Aritz Dimas Aizpiolea, Eivind Hansen and Shingi Rice.
ABOUT THE LOCAL ARTISTS
BEST | EVER - two like-minded painters from South London. Since meeting in late 2008, the pair have developed a style that combines traditional painterly techniques with intricate aerosol realism. BEST | EVER execute sensitive subject matters such as death, disease and mental illness with soul and wisdom that belies their youth.
CHEO - one of Bristol’s most well known street artists who has been drawing and painting graffiti characters since the mid 1980’s. Cheo has a recognisable cartoon style that has been inspired by the comic book characters of Vaughn Bode. His trademark is a cute bumble bee character which can be seen on most of his pieces, from sketches, colour marker illustrations and wall art.
MR. CENZ - London based graffiti artist Mr Cenz has been scribbling on surfaces since 1988 when he first discovered hip-hop culture and graffiti art. Since his first commissioned mural at 11 years old he has continued experimenting with his art through college and University, leading to a career as a professional graffiti artist with several solo shows and high profile commissions internationally.
NGADI SMART - a Sierra Leonean Visual Artist and Designer based between London, UK and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Her practice comprises of Illustration, Photography and Design. She also works as a Mixed Media artist, primarily in the form of collage art.
NYANZA D - London born and raised, Nyanza’s series of illustrations and animations were born out of her being pushed out of a lot of different spaces, so she decided to create her own world with her own subjects. Her work is inspired by womanhood, vintage pop art, culture, interior design and the concept of space.
