Xmas Light Switch On: A Croydon Variety Show

Location: Boxpark Croydon

7:00pm — 11:00pm

Our month-long festive activities begins with our Christmas Light Switch On on Thursday 25th November!

Join us in the main space on the last Thursday in November as we host our Croydon Variety Show in support of Youth Legacy Zone!

Enjoy an evening of live entertainment and performances from of the Borough's top talent including Croydon rapper JORDS aka Jordan Edwards-Wilks, plus his live band who are set to serenade you with all the latest and greatest Christmas classics.

Known for his smooth hybrid of hip-hop, R&B and poetry, JORDS sold-out his show at Notting Hills Arts Club and was back this year for a headline show at Colours Hoxton. With new music on the way, JORDS is set to be one of Croydon's most up-and-coming rappers.

The line-up also features an exclusive performance from the UK’s new theatre company Petite Pantos, which are back this Christmas for their first full-scale pantomime, Dick Whittington. Starring in the pantomime is BOXPARK Croydon’s very own Dani Springer (daughter of Michael Springer, Chef behind Big Mike’s Calypso Kitchen). The performance tells the tale of a young boy on his way to London to seek his fortune. All he has in the world is his faithful best friend, a cat, and his heart full of dreams. Are the streets of South London paved with gold or will Dick find other riches? Join us to find out.

Finally, switching on the lights is the one and only Ms Great Britain A.K.A Kat Henry, the first plus size woman of colour to take home a Miss Great Britain title in the competition's 76-year history.

The Croydon Variety Show will be raising money to support Legacy Youth Zone, BOXPARK Croydon’s nominated charity partner, and purpose-built facility for the borough’s young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities. Legacy Youth Zone provides a safe environment where young people can come and enjoy themselves.
