Spotlight: Sound of the Endz
— 17 Oct 2018 by Lauren Furey
Tonight we welcome The Ree Up Presents: Sound of the Endz to Boxpark Croydon for a very special event celebrating UK culture. We caught up with founders, Ree and Lishan to get the lowdown on what you can expect.
Tell us who you are and what you do.
Ree: I am Ree, I'm 25 and I'm an A&R, events manager, presenter, blogger, radio producer and host.
How did The Ree Up and Sound of the Endz come about?
R: The Ree Up is a music, streetwear and music events blog which I started about 2 to 3 years ago because that's what I used my Instagram for anyway, so that's how we got the name. Then I met Lishan through Capital XTRA's music potential course and we both decided it would be great to do regular events together after organising and coordinating a showcase and concert.
What can people expect from your event at Boxpark Croydon?
L: Amazing performances from up and coming artists and upcoming DJs. A place to network as well as party on a Hump Day; Wednesday is the new Friday!
Who are some of your personal inspirations?
What does the rest of 2018 have in store for you?
R: Monthly 'Sounds of the Endz' at Boxpark; way more talent, way more positive vibes, hard work and even more fun!
Who should everyone be listening to right now?
L: It's a really hard one because this list is VERY long but definitely people like Suspect, Amber Olivier, Ms Banks, Alicai Harley, Society Of Alumni, Ambush, to name a few!
What was the last song you listened?
L: Ms Banks - Come Thru
The Sound of the Endz kicks off tonight at Boxpark Croydon from 7pm, be sure to follow them on Instagram! You can also follow Ree and Lishan on Instagram, too.
