Donde Tapas have been dishing up tantalising Spanish plates for a while now and their popularity is soaring at their new home in Boxpark.
We sat down with manager, Jason O'Brien, to discuss Donde's authentic menu and what he makes of his new Croydon fanbase.
Tell us who you are and what you do.
We are Donde Tapas. We started life in 2006 in honor oak Park, south London. The ethos is to keep the menu simple and affordable, whilst sourcing quality Spanish ingreingredients with a compact menu that fuses our own recipes and identity.
Which song best sums up your brand?
What can we expect from you at Boxpark Croydon?
We want to give our customers a refreshing menu that will move with the seasons that is also great value for money.
What is your favourite item from your menu?
Since Donde opened at Boxpark, we've been really surprised at how well our pork cheeks with sobresada and sherry have sold. People really seem to enjoy the big flavours in this dish. The churros and chocolate has also been a winner for those with a sweet tooth.
Which other Boxpark Croydon trader would you recommend to customers?
We're a big fan of the simplicity and healthiness of Feed Me Primal's menu!
What is your favourite thing about Croydon?
We love all the fellow traders at Boxpark and the brilliant customers that we get to meet with each day. I also have a huge amount of respect for Boxpark's Digital Director, Matt Carter!
If you were on death row, what would be your last meal and why?
I'm a simpleton when it comes to food. My last meal would be sardines grilled on the beach, by an elderly fella, with a plate of over-ripe tomatoes, with good extra virgin olive oil and sea salt; whilst staring at the fading sunset as life flashes away before me.
