While Sprayground take residency in unit26 for a 2 week long residency, We have luxury men's shoe brand 'Sons of London' in unit 6 for a week long pop-up. We caught up with founder Sepand Oboudiyat to find out more information about the brand:

 

Tell us about who you are and what you do?

My name is Sepand Oboudiyat, Founder of the luxury men’s shoe brand Sons of London.

Designed in London and handcrafted by our team of Italian artisans, each of our 5 styles is called a Son e.g. The First Son, The Second Son and so on. Each Son represents our unique take on a classic men’s shoe style.

Since we launched in 2015, our shoes have only our shoes have only been available online at sonsoflondon.com, so we’re super excited for our first street-side appearance at BOXPARK.

 

Which song best sums up your brand?

Oma Doris by HNNY. It’s bold, stylish, minimal, and if it doesn’t put a spring in your step nothing will.

 

What can we expect from your stay at BOXPARK?

The idea for Sons of London was conceived during my time working in the City just around the corner on Bishopsgate. Much of the early work to create the brand itself was carried out in an office on Paul St (also in Shoreditch) and our launch party was at a venue on Old Street called Kachette which was originally the ticket hall of Shoreditch Station which operated between 1865 to 1940.

Shoreditch is part of the Sons of London DNA, so we want to make this really special.

Visitors to our BOXPARK concept store will get an exclusive early access sneak peak at the Sixth Son and other unreleased styles that we plan to launch later this year as part of our Limited Edition programme. There will also be in-store offers that won’t be available online.

 

Which piece from your current collection is your favourite?

Picking a favourite Son would be like choosing a favourite child, so I can’t.

What’s the best reason to come to Shoreditch for a shopping spree?

Shoreditch is such a fantastic launchpad for new and exciting independent brands. Whether you’re strolling around Spitalfields, Bricklane, BOXPARK or Redchurch St there’s always something new cropping up to discover.

Every shopping spree needs fuel, and the food and drink in the area is second to none.

 

What’s your top Shoreditch tip?

Shoreditch to me is all about the Sundays, so here’s my tip for a Sunday session itinerary.

Start with brunch at Franze & Evans, wander down Columbia Rd flower market before taking on what I believe to be London’s best pub crawl - Start at The Birdcage, Well & Bucket (for sliders and Oyster Bloody Mary shots), The Owl & Pussy cat ending up at Crown & Shuttle.

 

What does the future hold for your brand?

The future at Sons is looking exciting. Our passion is creating truly beautiful, exquisitely crafted men’s shoes so we’re excited about our busy calendar of new product releases including The Sixth Son and our Limited Edition programme.

We can’t wait to share them both with everyone, and it all begins with the previews during our BOXPARK pop-up next week.
