We're delighted to welcome Tru Barbados to unit 11 at BOXPARK Shoreditch. A fashion brand that specialise in quality essentials, we caught up with them to learn more about their brand.

Tell us about yourself...

Emilee, a young island girl, born + raised on the shores of Barbados took her passion/slight obsession for soft tees + premium denim and founded her dream brand, TRU.

Inspired by the simplicity of island life, TRU promotes slow fashion by ethically producing each collection in small batches.

Designing effortless essentials that are made to last. Known for our luxe tees, premium denim + soon to be loungewear.

#TRUTOYOU - the core of the brand. It's more than just being yourself, it's being yourself unapologetically.
Building a community of strong, diverse, independent, likeminded women who inspire + support one another is one of the main goals.
TRU is growing not just as a brand but with their customers aka TRUPERS, sharing the journey + staying connected on social media.

"From producing tees in Barbados, to producing 3 signature styles in Colombia, to launching the online store, to a year of popup shops around London, to falling in love with Shoreditch + now having my dream of opening my first flagship store in my favorite place, Boxpark Shoreditch - what a journey it's been + I'm only just getting started!" -Emilee

Which song best sums up your brand?

Lush Life by Zara Larsson. no doubt in my mind!

What can we expect from your stay at BOXPARK?

Well...
You'll definitely get random Dancehall sessions in store with the occasional rum+coke shopping party for our TRUPERS, but in all seriousness you'll be getting an authentic shopping experience from a real slow fashion brand who actually cares.

Which item from your current menu/selection is your favourite?

I definitely live in my Jaxon Hoodie. The soft, cozy feeling it unmatched.

What does the future hold for your brand?

Ouu, 5 years... well.... I think these are funny saying as we are in a pandemic currently so I'm sure that rewind 5 years, everyone got this wrong x.x
buttttt, I would have to say my goal is being a household name + having TRU become a complete, established brand (men's, women's, shoes, accessories, intimates, literally everything). Also open another shop somewhere in Italy.
