This year saw everybody’s favourite competitive baking show move from its birthplace at the BBC to its new home at Channel 4 and the suspense and drama has been as mouth-watering as ever.
Unfortunately, the wholesome and loveable Bake Off judge, Prue Leith, has accidentally tweeted the winner of tonight’s final (apparently due to the time difference in Bhutan), but if you’ve managed to avoid temptation and you’re saving yourself for the main event, then you’ll be pleased to hear that the Great British Bake Off Final will be screened, tonight, at Boxpark Croydon from 8pm!
It’s been hard to judge who will cross the finish line this series; Steven’s precision and technical prowess has certainly won over Paul Hollywood and Kate baked what Prue described as the best cake she’s ‘ever had’, then there’s Sophie, who’s been confidently flying under the radar all series to deliver show stopping pieces and breath taking bakes.
Though there hasn’t been the drama of the baked Alaska this year (unless you count Stacey’s oven door coming off), I’m still devastated that Liam is not in the final three. His dedication to learning and developing his skills surely earned him a place in the final. Liam was confident enough to be bold in his ambition but he was also willing to accept his failures and learn from them – he’s the real winner in my eyes. Also, I need the recipe for his ‘Nan’s Sunday Dinner’ pie!
So, whoever you’re rooting for this series, be sure to stop by Boxpark Croydon this evening, grab some delicious food and settle in for an evening of GBBO!
