Eat. Bang Bang

bangbang

You're looking to sample some deliciously authentic Vietnamese street food? Pho-get about it. See what I did there? Ahem, never mind.

Lame faux/pho mafia references aside (I promise I'll stop) - Bang Bang's goal is to plant you at the centre of a busy Hanoi food market with a selection of fresh aromas, flavours and spices. They started life in London's swanky Fitzrovia but their street food set-up at Boxpark Croydon has been capturing the imagination and taste buds of customers from all over town.

The first thing you'll notice is the awesome decor. Bang Bang have gone all out to create the perfect slice of escapism amongst the hustle and bustle of a busy south London borough. The wooden aesthetic and makeshift tiki bar serve as comfortable and inviting hideaway that can seat couples and larger parties. The service is both friendly and efficient and the menu is super-charged with passion and flavour.

So, what should you order? Whether you're an expert in Vietnamese cuisine or a complete novice, there's absolutely something to satisfy every palate. Keep it mild and flavoursome with a mouth-watering bowl of Pho, with your choice of meat or veg, or, kick it into overdrive with a spicy Bun Hue. My personal favourite is the Chicken Bun Hue but the beef brisket is also especially tender and tasty.

A healthier alternative comes in the form of a Bun Thit Nuong - a nutritious vermicelli noodle salad with your choice of topping. But, if you want a big portion that will satisfy your stomach in more ways than one, then it has to be the banging Bahn Mi. These sandwiches are filled to the brim with fresh ingredients and wonderful flavours and, we've heard on more than a few occasions that pork belly and chicken is the way to go.

Bang Bang goes big in almost every possible way and it's no wonder that so many people have fallen in love with their unique style and their incredible menu. You can find their triple unit restaurant open seven days a week at Boxpark Croydon.

Also, be sure to tag your next meal with Bang Bang online on Facebook, Twiiter and Instagram. Who knows, maybe your next shot will be shared by Bang Bang and Boxpark.
