CALLING ALL YOUNG MUSICIANS IN BRENT!
JOIN THE MUSIC BATTLE AT BOXPARK WEMBLEY
To celebrate Brent as The Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2020, BOXPARK Wembley invites local music acts to enter the Culture Capital Competition - a competition giving musicians the opportunity to perform to an audience of thousands at The SSE Arena, Wembley.
For those seeking a career in the music world, this is a golden opportunity to join some of the UK’s freshest talent on stage and be the opening act of live concert, Culture Capital - a massive showcase of London sounds at The SSE Arena, Wembley, for 12,000 Londoners from across the city.
Entrants must be from Brent, aged 16-30, and creating original R&B, hip hop, grime, afrobeats, reggae, pop, neo soul or urban music. To enter, complete the online application that can be found here, where you’ll be asked to provide information about yourself, your music and links to videos of yourself/ your group performing live.
Once the entries are in, a panel of music industry professionals from Metropolis Music and BBC 1Xtra and local young people from the Blueprint Collective will read the applications, view the accompanying videos and select a shortlist of the five best acts.
The five shortlisted acts will be announced by Mon 23 March, and will be invited to compete against each other in a competition with a live audience at BOXPARK Wembley on the evening of Wed 22 April. Audience members are encouraged to come along and vote for their favourite act, and the judging panel will announce the winning act at the end of the night.
The winner will then go on to perform at The SSE Arena, Wembley and receive free mentoring from Metropolis Music, one of the UK's leading independent concert promotion companies.

The London Borough of Culture programme will subsidise ticket prices, making it affordable for people across the capital to see their favourite acts perform in this iconic venue.
