We have new eyewear brand 'Chakshu' coming in our unit 26 pop-up this October! Read on below to hear from the Chakshu team themselves:
Tell us about who you are and what you do?
We are a new eyewear brand, currently selling prescription glasses and sunglasses on our website www.chakshu.co.uk.
All of our frames have been designed here in London and have been handcrafted in a small village near Naples, Italy. Each style is one of a kind, made out of premium Mazzucchelli acetate and cannot be found anywhere else.
As optometrists, with years of experience in selling glasses we could see that the ‘add ons’ can make buying glasses a little confusing. Our aim is to create a more simplified pricing structure, we include all coatings and thinner lenses in one simple price.

Our glasses and sunglasses will perfectly equip you for any adventure life takes you on.
What can we expect from your stay at BOXPARK?
We will be creating a vintage opticians vibe, to showcase our full range of sensational frames, available in an array of distinctive colours.
As we are an online based brand, we wanted to offer the opportunity for people to see and feel the frames, so you can see for yourself how great they are!

Which piece from your current collection is your favourite?
Our favourite in our debut collection is Pupil, available in four stunning colours. It has a classically round shape, is lightweight and is a timeless piece that suits most face shapes.
What’s the best reason to come to Shoreditch for a shopping spree?
There are so many independent designers selling unique and quirky items. You could literally spend the whole day meandering through stores and you’ll end up wanting to buy everything you see!
What’s your top Shoreditch tip?
Let yourself get lost - you’ll find some hidden gems just walking around.
What does the future hold for your brand?
We want to continue to design and create more original Chakshu frames. As we grow as a company, we aim to eventually open our own optician stores; selling the brand and carrying out the eye tests ourselves.
Chakshu is a Sanskrit word for vision. Part of our vision for the future is to give back to the community. That is why 5% of all profits go to a UK based charity, Vision Care for Homeless People.
