— 14 Oct 2019, 00:01 by Renée Alleyne
Camile Thai Kitchen will be opening their doors and bringing their take on healthy Thai street food to Boxpark Croydon very soon, so we caught up with them to find out what we can expect.
Tell us about who you are and what you do
We are Camile Thai Kitchen. Our focus is on beautiful food. Taste the joy of local in-season vegetables, British sirloin steak & pork, and curry & stir fry sauces made from scratch.
That's very healthy too. We use whole unprocessed ingredients and cook them quickly. Calories are smack on the menu, macros are on Myfitnessal, and we've lots of dishes under 600 calories
We cater to all kinds. Vegans, dairy-free, gluten-free and low carb - we've got you covered. (Don't worry if you don't give a hoot - We've got all the classics too)
With local folks in mind.
We advocate for overall wellness within our communities with free cookery demos in our restaurants, local sport sponsorships, and free yoga classes in select areas. Innovation is our worth
We were the first delivery chain to have Michelin start guest chefs, MSG-free prawn crackers, 100% locally sourced Thai dishes and most importantly... A takeaway treat for dogs!
We look after our earth. Yes, your pretty cup is compostable! Put it in your brown or standard bin. We do loads in-house to reduce water waste, maximise recycling systems and achieve close to 0% food waste.
What can we expect from your stay at BOXPARK?
We are excited to bring our healthy and sustainable take on Thai food along with high energy and positive vibes to the already buzzing Boxpark.
Expect flaming woks and smiling faces.
Which piece from your current collection is your favourite?
Available on our delivery menu as well as one of our heavenly bliss bowls it has to be Pad Thai. It's the national dish of Thailand for a reason, an exciting rice noodle dish with chicken breast, prawn, peanuts and lime. We make our signature seasoning sauce sweet with a little bit of spice.
What do you like most about Croydon?
It's a place with that's culturally diverse with a fantastic community spirit and somewhere that feel really exciting at the moment.
What does the future hold for your brand?
We want to continue to try new things and innovate, we are really pushing to do more both in terms of create a more sustainable business and continuing to participate and give back to the communities of which we are a part of.
