Since 2011, Boxpark has become synonymous in London with great food and innovative events. When the original site launched, in Shoreditch, it revolutionised the pop-up social dining and shopping destination, and offered something new and exciting. In October 2016, we took things south of the river and launched Boxpark Croydon, the first food and beverage (F&B) only site, featuring over 30 independent and respected traders from across the city.
In 2018, we’re heading north – to Wembley – for the launch of Boxpark 3.0!
Boxpark’s signature black and white look will make its way to Wembley’s infamous Wembley Way to create the third wave in the cultural and dining evolution. Much like its predecessor in Croydon, Boxpark Wembley will feature a selection of some of the best independent and established food traders from across London, and around the world, as well as an impressive events calendar, featuring over 200 varied and original events each year. It will also include a major 2000 capacity arena space for large scale events, and a BoxBar, stocked with a top selection of craft beers, fine wines and spirits, for more intimate events.
Roger Wade, Boxpark’s creator and CEO, said:
"I'm delighted to announce the opening of the third Boxpark site, Boxpark Wembley. Boxpark Wembley is located in an iconic location, on Olympic Way in Wembley Park. We look forward to working closely with Quintain, Brent Council, and the other venue operators on the site, to develop a world class food, drink and entertainment destination, and possibly the best fan park in the world!" Wembley Park is already home to thousands of residents and welcomes over 11 million visitors each year. It is also one of the most connected corners of north London and benefits from a wide range of attractive public spaces, housing developments and office and workspaces. Boxpark Wembley hopes to establish itself as part of the growing developments in the area and provide an alternative place to eat, drink and play."
Angus Dodd, the Chief Exec of Quintain who are currently heading up the renovations at Wembley Park, said:
“We’re pleased to be able to announce that Wembley Park is soon to be home to Boxpark Wembley. We are working hard to ensure that Wembley Park is an exciting place to rent and live in London and this brand new space is another way in which we are demonstrating that. Boxpark Wembley will open up Wembley Park to a whole new audience and we are looking forward to welcoming them, along with those that live and work here already, as we work closely with Boxpark to deliver this new exciting venue for London.”
Boxpark Wembley will be created by BDP, the team behind the award-winning design of Boxpark Croydon. BDP’s chairman, Gavin Elliott, was keen to get started on the new project:
"Following on from the award-winning success of Boxpark Croydon, it’s great to ‘get the band back together’, to design another Boxpark with Roger and his team. The Boxpark Wembley scheme is a significant evolution of the F&B model we developed in Croydon, and takes our thinking to a new level. It’s also particularly exciting to be working with both Boxpark and Quintain in such an iconic, world renowned destination - to which we hope to bring our own little bit of urban cool."
Like its older siblings in Shoreditch and Croydon, Boxpark Wembley will aim to deliver a calendar of pioneering events that will reflect the community and culture of the surrounding area. We have always worked closely alongside local groups to forge new and exciting events for people of all ages, and we’re excited to bring that very same focus and commitment to Wembley, next year.
Boxpark Wembley will open its doors towards the end of 2018 and, in the run up to the launch, we’ll be communicating and working alongside some of the greatest minds and visionaries in street food dining to bring the people of north London a mouth-watering menu that will be impossible to resist.
