The next residents in our unit 26 pop-up is clothing brand '304'! Recently re-launched at the top of 2016, we caught up with the brands founders David Michael Powell & Sean Cotter to gain more insight into the brand:

Tell us about who you are and what you do?

A dream, an idea, a concept to encompass all things exciting, 
304 was created by three friends, who met at University,
 now living out of apartment 304.
 The Plan; to have a summer to beat all summers; from festivals to holidays, to festivals on holiday, 304 was created with an idea -of standing out. After numerous nights out discussing ideas, numerous nights out NOT discussing ideas, days lost to cutting out letters,
 hours of ironing, the first handmade vests were produced. Numerous emails and messages from friends, and friends of friends, enquiring about where to get hold of these vests.
The revolution was beginning... All it took was one photograph of Apartment 304 and the brand was born. With 304 now developing as a brand and with numerous capsule collections throughout the year, we started to develop in the industry and learn what it is going to 
take to make 304 the next big thing. Team 304 embarked on a journey across Route 66 in America , where we spent many days and nights discussing where we wanted the brand to go and the sacrifices needed to achieve this. Fast forward another 12 months & 304 is now stocked in over 50 stores worldwide & new stockists continue to grow each week. 304 may once have been just a slogan brand, but 304 is now so much more than that & we have so much more planned for the next few years 

 

Which song best sums up your brand?

A song that has been with us from the start is 'Tidal - Subfocus' The video is fast and all about wanderlust and summer... this is what the brand was born from. Travel, Summer and a love for partying.  

 

What can we expect from your stay at BOXPARK?

We host a night called Pikaso in London, which is also starting to pick up pace in terms of a following. We plan to use the network and our strong presence on social media to continue to get people through the door. We will be doing giveaways, discounts, have surprise guests in store (both celebrity and bloggers) and also showcasing our SS17 and AW17 collections.


Which BOXPARK brand are you most excited about appearing about appearing alongside and why?

Hype! They were are the forefront of independent brands breaking into the main stream window 4 years back. Will be a pleasure to be on the same street as them. We followed their journey and the owner Liam's progress from the start. Was inspiring to see a brand so young be so successful so quickly.

 

What’s the best reason to come to Shoreditch for a shopping spree?

We are going to be there?

 

What does the future hold for your brand?

We only launched the mens side of the business 12 months ago, and within the first 12 months the mens business has developed quicker than the ladies did inside the first 3 years. We feel we have learnt a lot of lessons over the past 4 years and we are now really starting to see the brand become what we want it to be. We recently went through a total rebrand of the logo and its identity as we believed we had outgrown our original logo, site and brand image. The response has been amazing and very positive. Within the next 5 years we want to continue growing the business in UK but we have major links to the USA and we want to continue to develop the work we did out there this summer while working in NYC for 2 months. We have always sold extremely well to USA and we want this to continue to grow. We would like to have a brick and mortar store in NYC and LDN within the next 5 years while continuing to grow the e-commerce side of the business.
