Second up in our BOXPARK Asks series, the delightful Melabelle answer our BIG 8 questions…

1. Tell us about who you are and what you do

Melabelle is an independent womenswear label based in London. The collections feature versatile, flattering shapes in bespoke prints and fabrics.

2. Which song best sums up your brand?

We are listening to Jessie Ware –  110% at the moment and the new Rudimental album.

3. What can we expect from your stay at BOXPARK?

Pebbles, a summery vibe and Brighton rock to make us feel nearer the seaside! We are awaiting our high summer collection and are very excited to have it in store soon.

4. Which piece from your current collection is your favourite?

The Sarah Dress is our favourite from the collection because it is both versatile and flattering, mainly because of the subtle colour and it has bronze beading to make it a little more special

5. Which current BOXPARK brand are you most excited about appearing alongside and why?

As textile designers we love Marimekko which is known for striking prints and Scandinavian heritage. Also, Wandering Minds offers an eclectic mix of independent designers – which seems to be the main incentive/expectation for visitors coming to shop at BOXPARK

6. What’s the best reason to come to Shoreditch for a shopping spree?

Shoreditch offers a selection of independent brands and businesses so provides a more unique experience than your standard high street. In addition, Shoreditch has plenty of fun bars and restaurants, weekend markets, fab places to pamper yourself – all adding to the fun!

 7. What’s your top Shoreditch tip?

Shop by day and when you need some reviving, there are great rooftop bars (BOXPARK terrace, Boundary) within very close proximity for an amazing London sundowner.

8. What does the future hold for your brand?

We were spotted at one the many short Portobello Road pop ups we did last year and BOXPARK has given us the unique opportunity to spend a decent period of time in our very own retail environment. We are really enjoying it here, growing awareness about the brand, which is in turn driving more traffic to our website and using the space to host press/bloggers nights & events. Not 100% confirmed yet whether we will stay past our agreed term (July!) but watch this space…..
