ART AGAINST KNIVES PRESENTS ‘FREEDOM’

PRIVATE VIEW: THURSDAY 9TH AUGUST 2012, 6.30-8.30PM

EXHIBITION: 10TH – 30 AUGUST 2012

What does Freedom mean to you?

Art Against Knives invite you all to an exhibition exploring notions of freedom and safety in our communities, on the anniversary of the London riots.

Over the past year, Hackney’s diverse communities have created a thought-provoking exhibition focusing on varying interpretations of freedom through film, audio, photography, painting and writing. The exhibition kick-starts ‘STOP AND TALK’ a nationwide campaign that calls for better and fairer relationships between the police and young people.

The exhibition showcases a community’s response to the riots, stop and search laws, and ultimately, freedom. The work on show is the result of creative collaborations between established photographers, youth providers, and local young people.

Bring your ideas, sign up to stopandtalk.co.uk and RSVP to attend the Private View on Thursday 9th August: rsvp@artagainstknives.com
